4-7 September 2025
The
2025 Amgen Irish Open, which is the 34th event for the 2025 DP World Tour schedule, will take place in Straffan, Ireland, between 4 and 7 September.
What to know about the tournament
The Irish Open was first played in 1927 and the event will take place at the Kildare Hotel and Golf Club (abbreviated The K Club), which contains two golf courses, both designed by Arnold Palmer.
In 2022, Horizon Therapeutics became the new title sponsor in a six-year deal lasting until 2027. Due to Amgen's takeover of Horizon Therapeutics in 2023, the tournament was renamed the Amgen Irish Open.
News
Recent DP World Tour winners Martin Couvra, Eugenio Chacarra, Marco Penge and Danish breakout star Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen will tee it up at the 2025 Amgen Irish Open.
However, Rasmus Hojgaard, who is the reigning Amgen Irish Open champion, will not defend his title after he opted to skip this week's 70th edition at The K Club.
Favourites
The 2025 Amgen Irish Open field is headlined by Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Tyrrell Hatton, who will be the only golfers ranked in the top 50 on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) at the K Club.
Thriston Lawrence, who won the most recent tournament on the 2025 DP World Tour schedule, the Omega European Masters, will be part of the 156-player field in Straffan.
What Is At Stake
The 2025 Amgen Irish Open will see golfers compete for a share of the $6 million purse, with the 2025 champion receiving a cheque of just over $1 million.
The winner of this event will also receive an estimated 800 Race to Dubai ranking points from the 5,000 available and a trophy, which is a Waterford crystal piece, crafted by the masters at the House of Waterford Crystal, symbolising excellence and a great sporting achievement.
